MIND camapign for better Crisis Care

MIND has a campaign to improve acute and Crisis Care. More information can be found at their

In a year-long

inquiry

they listened to hundreds of people to find out how well crisis services are meeting people’s needs.

Crisis care had been at its best when they:

  • had someone to talk to who’s kind and caring
  • were able to choose the right treatment for their particular circumstances
  • had a good range of quality options
  • were somewhere that was safe.

Yet, too often people are turned away and struggle to get help. People said they had been left feeling:

  • neglected
  • rejected
  • repeatedly ignored
  • scared and alone.

At its worst, people told the inquiry about being:

  • traumatised
  • coerced
  • dangerously restrained
  • abused.
